Cops open probe paper on alleged child abuse video

Two five-second recordings show woman hitting a boy with her hand.

Sentul district police chief Beh Eng Lai says a woman lodged a complaint after watching a video of her son being hit by his kindergarten teacher.
KUALA LUMPUR:
Police have opened an investigation paper into two videos allegedly showing a child being abused, which went viral on social media yesterday.

Sentul district police chief Beh Eng Lai said both five-second videos showed a woman hitting a child with her hand. The incident is believed to have happened in May.

He said the videos that were uploaded on Facebook also showed the child crying after being hit and forced to eat something.

“Police received a complaint from a woman, aged 33, who stated that she saw a video in her house showing her three-year-old son being hit by his kindergarten teacher in Kepong.

“The complainant confirmed the child in the video was her son,” he said in a statement last night.

Beh said no arrest had been made so far.
