Dang Wangi police chief Noor Dellhan Yahaya confirmed that the former director of the federal commercial crime investigation department (CCID) filed the report today.
“I can confirm that he (Amar) lodged the report at the police station today,” he told FMT.
Noor Dellhan Yahaya said an investigation for criminal defamation and abuse of internet facilities would be carried out on the article and YouTube video.
Raja Petra had alleged in his portal, Malaysia Today, that Amar’s girlfriend was present at a raid on former prime minister Najib Razak’s home in May 2018 and left with one of the bags seized by police.
Amar has since denied the allegation, adding that there were detailed records on what the police had seized and that no civilian was present during the raid.
He said there were plenty of photos and videos of the operation, from the beginning till the end.
“There is just no way a civilian could have avoided these cameras and videos without anyone realising it, unless this person has ‘ilmu ghaib’ (black magic) and was invisible,” he said.
