DUNGUN: Three friends on a motorcycle were killed when they were involved in a crash with a car at Km80 Jalan Jerangau-Jabor at Bukit Besi, near here, last night.
Dungun district police chief Supt Baharudin Abdullah identified them as Muhammad Faris Haikal Mohd Faizal, Muhammad Hafiqzie Mohd Zukri and Muhammad Salman Faris Samsun, all aged 14.
All three, who were students of SMK Bukit Besi, died at the scene from head injuries, he said. Their bodies were sent to Dungun Hospital for a post-mortem.
He said the crash occurred at 9.25pm when the car, heading towards Jerangau, was believed to be trying to overtake another car.
The driver, a man aged 50, a woman passenger, aged 45, and two two boys, aged six and seven, were injured and taken to the same hospital for treatment.
