Rumours of ex-Selangor MB Khalid’s death not true, says aide

The former Selangor menteri besar is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

It was reported last week that former Selangor menteri besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim was unwell.
PETALING JAYA:
An aide to Abdul Khalid Ibrahim has denied rumours circulating on social media that the former Selangor menteri besar has died.

In a brief statement posted on Khalid’s Facebook page, the aide said that the former Bandar Tun Razak MP was still being treated at the hospital.

“Reports of his death are not true.”

The aide also urged the public not to spread fake news.

Rumours of his death come a week after it was reported that he was seeking treatment at a hospital.

In May, Khalid was reported to have been hospitalised for lung infection but his condition was stable.

This isn’t the first time denials were issued after rumours of his death. In May 2021, Khalid had to address similar rumours.

In December, Khalid sought to allay concerns over his health after pictures of him looking thin and frail circulated on social media.

Khalid said he was “okay now” and had lost weight as he was a diabetic and suffered from kidney disease.
