This comes after Tajuddin hit back at opposition MPs after being called out for making sexist remarks. The Umno man had accused DAP women MPs of being “biadap” (rude) and “tidak senonoh” (indecent).
He also allegedly used an expletive after switching off the microphone as the ruckus continued.
Today, Lim Guan Eng (PH-Bagan) urged Speaker Azhar Harun to “urgently” summon Tajuddin for his behaviour, saying the matter concerned the dignity of the lower house and of its women MPs.
“This is no laughing matter. We must respect the dignity of the Dewan Rakyat and of women MPs,” he said. “The Speaker must right the wrong.”
He said Tajuddin was an “embarrassment” for using expletives in the Dewan Rakyat.
Lim was supported by Steven Sim (PH-Bukit Mertajam), RSN Rayer (PH-Jelutong) and Kasthuri Patto (PH-Batu Kawan), who all said Tajuddin’s actions were unprovoked.
In reply, Azhar said he would discuss the matter with deputy speaker Rashid Hasnon, who oversaw proceedings when the incident occurred yesterday.
