The duo is believed to have issued an invoice with false details to Socso, to apply for RM700,000 under the hiring incentive programme.

PETALING JAYA:
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) detained two more individuals to assist with the probe into false claims and embezzlement of funds involving the PenjanaKerjaya scheme under the Social Security Organisation (Socso).

MACC sources said the duo – a CEO and director of a private company – were arrested in Kuala Lumpur around 1.30pm yesterday.

The 41-year-old male director is being remanded for four days until July 21, while the female CEO, 40, was released on bail after the MACC recorded her statement.

“The duo is believed to have issued an invoice with false details to Socso, to apply for RM700,000 under the hiring incentive programme,” the source said.

MACC senior investigations director Hishamuddin Hashim said the anti-graft agency had so far hauled up a total of 42 suspects in relation to its investigation.

He didn’t rule out the possibility of more arrests in the near future as MACC is actively pursuing the case.

On July 14, the MACC arrested 37 individuals in several states while three more individuals were arrested in Johor and Penang a day later.
