KUALA LUMPUR:
MCA Youth chief Nicole Wong was sworn in as senator before Senate president Rais Yatim at Dewan Negara today.

Wong’s senatorship is a new appointment made by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, effective today, and is until June 16, 2025.

In his welcoming speech, Rais congratulated the new senator and hoped Wong would be able to fulfil her responsibilities and the oath she had taken.

Wong said she was looking forward to bringing the problems and voices of the youth to the Senate.

“I think we should be a little more proactive. As part of the government, we can give the right and accurate message and woo more young people to support the government,” she said.
