
In the video, which was uploaded on TikTok, the men claimed they were from the Hindu Samachar.
The video was filmed in front of the Batu Caves temple.
Bukit Aman criminal investigation department (CID) director Abd Jalil Hassan said that the men were being probed for making statements that created fear and alarm as well as improper use of network facilities.
“As investigations are still ongoing, we would like to advise the public against speculating about it and be more sensitive when it comes to issues revolving around race and religion.”
Nupur, from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), had made the derogatory remarks during a TV show aired on May 26.
BJP is the ruling party in India.
The derogatory remarks have since sparked unrest in India as well as triggered a diplomatic row with several Muslim countries.
Nupur, along with another BJP leader Naveen Kumar Jindal, have since been expelled.
India’s High Commissioner to Malaysia, who had been summoned by Wisma Putra over the controversy, has said that the remarks by the two politicians did not represent the official views of New Delhi.
