The court decision was made on May 30, following a five-day hearing in October, the victim’s lawyer, Rasheed Hassan, told Utusan Malaysia.
Rasheed said the court also ordered Eira Aziera, whose real name is Noorazira Pissal, to issue an unconditional apology to commissioner of oaths Suharnizan Md Sidek, with the apology to remain posted for six months.
Suharnizan had filed a defamation suit against Noorazira in October 2020, seeking RM2 million in damages for alleged insults to her physical body form.
It was reported that in August 2020, Suharnizan had written a comment on cooking and diet products, which her friend shared on Noorazira’s Facebook account.
Noorazira made a video recording containing abusive words aimed at Suharnizan, in which her body shape was likened to that of an animal. The video clip also displayed pictures of Suharnizan and her son.
Following backlash from netizens, Noorazira posted a video apologising for her actions, claiming to have failed to control her emotions and words.
In September 2020, Suharnizan, accompanied by Rasheed, lodged a report against Noorazira at the Johor Bahru South district police headquarters.
