PETALING JAYA: A wushu instructor has been arrested and held in custody after a complaint that a 13-year-old trainee had been sexually molested at his home.
Kajang police said the girl’s father had lodged a report against the 31-year-old instructor. An investigation found that the girl was molested in the afternoon and at midnight between Feb 11 and Feb 19, while she was at the home of the coach.
District police chief Zaid Hassan said the girl was approached by the coach and molested after he told her that she had failed to obey instructions. He also warned her against informing her parents.
However, the girl told her father, who immediately took her to the police station to lodge a report on May 10.
Zaid said the suspect will be detained until May 23.
