KUALA LUMPUR: A 47-year-old driver died in a road accident in Jalan Duta here today when his trailer carrying security documents from Percetakan Nasional Malaysia Berhad (PNMB) skidded.
Kuala Lumpur traffic investigation and enforcement department chief Sarifudin Mohd Salleh said the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to hit the concrete divider and turn turtle.
The trailer was heading to the Jalan Duta toll plaza from the city centre.
“The driver died on the spot and his body was taken to Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL),” said Sarifudin in a statement.
“In the same accident, a policeman who was escorting the trailer was injured. He was treated at HKL.
“At 4pm, work to remove the trailer wreck was completed and the road was opened to motorists.”
