Khairuddin Othman said there were also claims making the rounds on social media that some people from MIC were registered as PKR members.
“The election committee must look into these allegations seriously to ensure the election process is smooth,” Khairuddin told the media when met at a Hari Raya do here.
Khairuddin’s comments come on the heels of a claim by deputy president candidate Rafizi Ramli who said there are currently 54,000 “dubious voters” nationwide.
Rafizi had said that an official letter had been sent on April 12 to the election committee to address the issue.
Commenting further, Khairuddin, who is the Paya Jaras assemblyman, said he did not know where these “ghost voters” came from.
He reminded members not to show any aggression during the elections as this could mar the image of the party.
“Remain calm. Don’t take matters into your own hands. Do not let the chairs fly.
“If there’s a problem, leave it to the election committee to solve,” he said.
The elections for the Sungai Buloh division chief’s post will see a four-cornered fight, with Khairuddin pitted against Ramanan Ramakrishnan, Sivarasa Rasiah and Majeman Nyono.
The party elections in Selangor will be on May 21.
