“Trains will move slower and stop longer at platforms. Customers are advised to seek alternative transport,” said RapidKL in a tweet at 9.57am.
The news left netizens disappointed, with @thatsmyfullname suggesting that every station should have apology letters ready for workers to show their employers for being late for work.
“What a bad image for Malaysia’s public transport. Why no maintenance?” said @shenggui04.
Earlier, RapidKL said the “failed train” was being removed from service. About an hour later, it directed passengers at the Taman Jaya station to take the train at Platform 1 heading towards Putra Heights.
This came as the rail operator reported that another “failed train” on the Ampang/Sri Petaling line had been taken out of service yesterday evening, with service reported to be back to normal later in the day.
