Upon his arrival at 11.30am, the King was greeted by Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Chief Secretary to the Government Mohd Zuki Ali.

He was then escorted to a special dining room to sample traditional dishes.

Themed “Raya Keluarga Malaysia, Syawal Dirai, Nikmat Disyukuri”, it is the first open house hosted by Ismail since his appointment as prime minister last August.

This is also the first time in three years that an official Hari Raya open house is being hosted by the prime minister. It had not been held for the past two years due to the movement control orders and travel restrictions during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The last time it was held was on June 5, 2019, in Seri Perdana, and it was hosted by then prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his Cabinet members.
