According to a report by the Borneo Post, SUPP Youth Central assistant secretary Liew Leong Yee said Yong had posted two videos on her Facebook page where she stated the local government had used Sarawakians as “guinea pigs” to administer expired Covid-19 vaccines to people getting their booster dose.
“Such a statement is untruthful and baseless.
“The health ministry, the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA), and the Sarawak government had released several statements that the manufacturers of the vaccines had extended all the expiration dates of their vaccines.

“Thus, the vaccines used as booster doses have not expired and are still effective,” he said.
Liew added that the DAP rep’s statement had created disorder by instilling fear and worry among Sarawakians.
“Many people had refused to take a second booster dose due to her untruthful statements which hindered and jeopardised the state government’s efforts in combating Covid-19.
“Consequently, the lives of people and the safety of society are at stake,” he said, adding that the police report was made so that an investigation can be carried out on the matter.
Liew filed the report together with Kuching SUPP branch Youth chief Eric Tay.
In the video posted on her public Facebook page on April 29, Yong had questioned the validity of the booster doses.
Previously, Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii had urged the health ministry to clarify the decision to extend the shelf life of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccines.
Sarawak health director Dr Ooi Choo Huck responded by assuring the public that all Covid-19 vaccines are safe and effective.
