8 Covid-19 deaths as new cases drop to 2,478

The death toll stands at 35,507.

Two of the deaths were classified as brought-in-dead cases.
PETALING JAYA:
The health ministry reported eight Covid-19 deaths for the second consecutive day.

The death toll stands at 35,507.

According to its Github database, there were 2,478 new cases, compared with 4,006 a day earlier.

They comprised 2,471 local cases and seven imported cases.

There were two brought-in-dead (BID) cases.

Selangor recorded five deaths, while Kedah recorded two. Melaka reported one death.

There were no deaths in the other states and in the federal territories.

As of midnight, there were 68,007 active cases, with 1,809 people hospitalised. Of this, 98 were in intensive care units (ICU), with 63 requiring respiratory assistance.

There were also 9,215 recoveries.

The total number of Covid-19 cases stands at 4,433,551.
