Petaling Jaya district police chief Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid confirmed this with FMT today.
“He will be charged in a Petaling Jaya magistrates’ court tomorrow,” Fakhrudin said.
Earlier today, police obtained a two-day remand order for the 45-year-old suspect.
In the incident, the suspect hit his former wife when she came to fetch their son at the singer’s home on Tuesday.
The suspect is said to have become infuriated after she refused to take a picture with him.
The singer scolded and beat her up, resulting in bruises on her body. She then lodged a police report.
The case was investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt and Section 18(A) of the Domestic Violence (Amendment) Act 2017.
