12 Covid-19 deaths, new cases drop to 6,623

The death toll stands at 35,421.

Eight of the deaths were classified as brought-in-dead cases.
PETALING JAYA:
The health ministry reported 12 Covid-19 deaths yesterday.

The death toll stands at 35,421.

According to the ministry’s GitHub database, there were 6,623 new cases, comprising 6,610 local cases and 13 imported cases.

Eight of the deaths were classified as brought-in-dead (BID) cases.

Kedah recorded four deaths, followed by Penang (3), Sarawak (2) and Melaka, Perak and Selangor (1 each).

There were no deaths in Kelantan, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perlis, Sabah, Terengganu, Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya.

As of midnight, there were 103,900 active cases, with 2,124 people hospitalised. Of this, 126 were in intensive care units (ICU), with 76 requiring respiratory assistance.

There were also 11,233 recoveries recorded.

The total number of Covid-19 cases stands at 4,389,025.
