Its chairman, Wong Kah Woh, said officers from the National Security Council (MKN), the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (Mampu), as well as the National Cyber Security Agency (Nacsa) would be called up to provide evidence and clarification on April 21.
The main focus of the proceedings today was the awarding of the MySejahtera app development contract to KPISoft Malaysia Sdn Bhd, the ownership of the application, the government’s commitment to protect the personal data of those using the app, and the ongoing dispute in court.
Finance minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz and health minister Khairy Jamaluddin appeared before the PAC to provide evidence and clarification in the proceedings today.
Introduced as a mandatory app in August 2020, MySejahtera was in the spotlight last month when the PAC questioned its takeover by MySJ Sdn Bhd from KPISoft, now known as Entomo Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
Last month, Wong said the issue involved the safety of the people’s personal data and the PAC wanted to prevent irresponsible parties from taking advantage of it.
