Greg Jenkins, 43, said he felt strongly about retired policeman Zali Hanapi’s testimony at the coroner’s court last week.
Zali had told the court that he and his colleague had found Anna’s diary at her hotel, in which they found an entry claiming she did not want to return to Australia due to a “drug case” there.
“I had to file this complaint as mum and dad no longer have a voice here in Malaysia and that doesn’t give the police the opportunity to slander and discredit mum and dad’s relationship and character.
“We as a family are very close and very tight, and if they think they can throw out false accusations, you better believe that we will fight back twice as hard,” he said when contacted.
FMT has contacted the George Town police for comment.
