
According to the ministry’s GitHub database, there were 14,692 new cases, comprising 14,474 local cases and 218 imported cases.
Of the 56 deaths, 11 were classified as brought-in-dead (BID) cases. The death toll now stands at 35,069.
Selangor, Perak and Kuala Lumpur recorded the most number of deaths with 10 each. This was followed by Johor (8), Kedah (7), Melaka (3) Pahang (2), Negeri Sembilan (2), Penang (1), Sarawak (1), Sabah (1) and Terengganu (1).
There were no deaths reported in Perlis, Kelantan, Putrajaya and Labuan.
As of midnight, there were 201,232 active cases, with 3,925 people hospitalised. Of this, 261 were in intensive care units (ICU), 153 of whom required respiratory assistance.
There were also 20,383 recoveries recorded.
The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia stands at 4,234,087.
