The PKR president told reporters at the sidelines of an event that the app’s security was a serious matter that health minister Khairy Jamaluddin needed to clarify.
“That’s why many people have been demanding (for MySejahtera to be dropped). Besides the vaccination certificates (in the app), there’s no need for MySejahtera anymore,” he said.
Anwar added he is looking forward to Khairy’s clarifications on the issue of MySejahtera’s personal data privacy and ownership in the Dewan Negara this evening.
Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) president Dr Koh Kar Chai was reported to have said MySejahtera would no longer be useful once the country transitions to the endemic phase from tomorrow.
Yesterday, Khairy said the health ministry would monitor the Covid-19 infection pattern over the next few weeks before deciding on discontinuing the app.
He said if there was no clear change after borders were reopened and other restrictions were relaxed, then people could stop using the app.
