Seremban police chief Nanda Maarof said police arrested the 41-year-old driver who admitted to committing the act during preliminary investigation.
“The case is being investigated under Section 14 (a) of the Sexual Offences against Children Act 2017.
“Based on the preliminary investigation, the suspect admitted (committing the act),” Nanda said in a statement.
The report, sighted by FMT, alleged that the episode began when the driver complimented the girl as beautiful and touched her cheek inside the van when he was sending her home from school in Seremban on March 28.
The next day, the woman claimed that the driver had persuaded her daughter to sit next to him inside the van and praised her as special.
The driver is also alleged to have requested the girl to save his number and “add” him on WhatsApp.
“After that, he (the driver) rubbed my daughter’s hand twice, moved closer, and rubbed her right leg. My daughter revealed this incident to me while crying as she was traumatised over the incident,” the report read.
Earlier today, the girl’s father took to Facebook to reveal what happened to his daughter.
He also attached two clips of him confronting the suspect over the incident.
