PETALING JAYA: A former manager of a government-linked transport company was arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for alleged abuse of power.
MACC said in a statement that the man, in his 30s, was believed to have abused his position in August 2019 to support a company for which his wife’s firm was a subcontractor.
The man, who is currently employed at his wife’s company, was arrested at the Selangor MACC’s office at 2pm today.
He is believed to have committed the act as a favour to the transport company for appointing his wife’s company as a subcontractor, with a total work value of RM80,000.
Selangor MACC director Alias Salim said the suspect will be taken to the Shah Alam sessions court tomorrow to face charges.
