
According to the ministry’s GitHub database, there were 20,923 new cases, comprising 20,695 local cases and 228 imported cases.
Of the 34 deaths, eight were classified as brought-in-dead (BID) cases. The death toll now stands at 34,751.
Johor and Kedah recorded the most deaths with six each. This was followed by Selangor (5), Perak (3), Penang (2), Pahang (2), Sarawak (2), Sabah (2), Terengganu (2), Negeri Sembilan (2), Melaka (1) and Kelantan (1).
There were no deaths reported in Perlis, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan.
As of midnight, there were 242,487 active cases, with 5,430 people hospitalised. Of this, 302 were in intensive care units (ICU), 198 of whom required respiratory assistance.
There were also 25,467 recoveries recorded.
The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia stands at 4,122,004.
