
The death toll stands at 34,463.
According to the ministry’s GitHub database, there were 17,828 new cases, compared with 19,105 the day before. They comprise 17,421 local cases and 407 imported cases.
Of the 63 deaths, 21 were classified as brought-in-dead (BID) cases
Johor reported the most number of fatalities with 14, followed by Selangor (13), Perak (12), Kedah (4), Penang, Sarawak and Kuala Lumpur (3 each), Melaka, Sabah and Terengganu (2 each) and Kelantan, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perlis and Labuan (1 each).
There were no deaths reported in Putrajaya.
As of midnight, there were 263,821 active cases, with 6,883 hospitalised. Of this, 358 were in intensive care units (ICU), with 199 requiring respiratory assistance.
There were also 28,003 recoveries recorded.
The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia stands at 4,010,952.
