
According to the ministry’s GitHub database, there were 24,241 new cases, comprising 23,720 local cases and 521 imported cases.
Of the 59 deaths, 13 were classified as brought-in-dead (BID) cases. The death toll now stands at 34,244.
Perak recorded the most deaths with 15. This was followed by Selangor (12), Johor (11), Kelantan (6), Melaka (5), Pahang (3), Negeri Sembilan (2), Penang (2), Sarawak (2) and Kedah (1)
There were no deaths in Perlis, Sabah, Terengganu, Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya.
As of midnight, there were 294,366 active cases, with 7,600 people hospitalised. Of this, 383 were in intensive care units (ICU), 222 of whom required respiratory assistance.
There were also 26,615 recoveries recorded.
The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia stands at 3,951,678.
