Driver in crash that killed family of 4 to be charged tomorrow

PETALING JAYA:
The driver of a four-wheel drive (4WD) who was involved in an accident that killed a family of four will be charged in court tomorrow.

The accident, which happened on Feb 27, occurred when the vehicle which was traveling along Lebuhraya Sultan Iskandar, in Kuala Lumpur, skidded into the opposite lane where it collided with an oncoming car ferrying the four victims.

They were identified as P Milan Damani, 32, C Tinisha, 31, and their children Ishaan Ivan, three, and Rihaan Ivan, four.

Kuala Lumpur traffic investigation and enforcement department chief Sarifudin Mohd Salleh has confirmed with FMT that the suspect will be charged at the magistrates’ court at Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow morning.

“Yes, he will be charged tomorrow morning,” he said in a brief reply to FMT.

Previously, the police were reported to have wrapped up their probe into the accident early this month.

According to Sarifudin, the police did not detain the 27-year-old driver of the 4WD after taking into consideration that he had an injury on his spine and had to use a back brace following the accident.
