PASIR PUTEH: Wan Sofiza Eliana Wan Yusof, the wife of deputy agriculture and food industries minister Nik Muhammad Zawawi Salleh, succumbed to cancer at 1.05pm today.
Nik Zawawi’s special officer, Ahmad Faizudin Mohd Ghawi, said the late Wan Sofiza Eliana, 42, died at home in Taman Kosas, Ampang, Selangor.
“Her remains will be brought back to Pulau Gajah, Pengkalan Chepa, this evening and will be buried at the Melawi cemetery in Bachok at 10am tomorrow,” he said when contacted by Bernama.
Nik Zawawi, who is Pasir Puteh MP, also informed the public about the death of his wife on Facebook.
Yesterday, also via Facebook, Nik Zawawi had requested that the public pray for his wife, who was battling cancer.
