
According to the ministry’s GitHub database, there were 26,250 new cases, comprising 25,705 local cases and 545 imported cases.
Of the 77 deaths, 23 were classified as brought-in-dead (BID) cases. The death toll now stands at 33,720.
Penang recorded the most deaths with 12. This was followed by Selangor (11), Kelantan (11), Kedah (9), Johor (8), Perak (7), Perlis (4), Terengganu (4), Negeri Sembilan (3), Kuala Lumpur (3), Sabah (2), Melaka (1), Pahang (1), Sarawak (1)
There were no deaths reported in Labuan and Putrajaya.
As of midnight, there were 239,267 active cases, with 8,691 people hospitalised. Of this, 367 were in intensive care units (ICU), 211 of whom required respiratory assistance.
There were also 25,089 recoveries recorded.
The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia stands at 3,801,036.
