KUALA LUMPUR:
The health ministry has denied that it issued a directive on the provision of voting channels in the Johor state elections for those who are Covid-19 positive as has been reported in a viral post on social media.

In a Facebook post, the ministry urged the public to ignore the audio recording.

“Please ignore this audio recording and follow the instructions of the National Security Council (MKN) and Election Commission.”

Earlier, an audio recording went viral, claiming that those who were Covid-19 positive could vote on condition that they informed the health ministry of their personal details such as name, address and telephone number.

The audio recording also claimed that vehicles belonging to the health ministry complete with personal protective equipment would ferry Covid-19 positive patients to and from the polling centres.
