IPOH:
The Perak Football Association (PAFA) has been suspended for six months following a violation of the association’s constitution in dismissing the membership of 12 affiliates.

Sports Commissioner Ibrahim Mohd Yusof said the suspension would give PAFA the opportunity to form a new committee and resolve the crisis.

The decision on the suspension was made at a meeting today that was attended by Kerian District Football Association secretary Tajul Hasnan, representing the affiliates expelled by PAFA acting president Yadzan Mohammad.

Yadzan had announced the dismissal of 12 affiliates in November, claiming that the group had planned to hold an extraordinary general meeting (EGM).

The 12 affiliates are the football associations of Perak Tengah, Tapah, Kampar, Gerik, Lenggong, Hulu Perak, Kampung Gajah, Ipoh, Larut Matang & Selama, Hilir Perak, Kerian and the FA of Perak Malays.

The group held an EGM in December and appointed Hilir Perak District Football Association president Azhar Jamaluddin as the new PAFA president.
