
The ministry also reported 33,209 new cases, up from the 32,467 cases reported yesterday.
There were 32,768 local cases and 441 imported cases.
The death toll now stands at 33,106.
Of the 78 fatalities, 22 were classified as brought-in-dead (BID) cases.
Sabah reported the highest number of deaths with 15, followed by Kedah (12), Johor (11), Selangor (10), Penang (8), Perak (6), Pahang (4), Terengganu (3), Negeri Sembilan (2), Sarawak (2), Kuala Lumpur (2), Kelantan (1), Melaka (1) and Perlis (1).
There were no deaths in Labuan and Putrajaya.
As of midnight, there were 305,010 active cases. Of this number, 348 were in intensive care units (ICU), 211 of whom require respiratory assistance.
There were also 26,352 recoveries.
The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia stands at 3,561,766.
