
According to the ministry’s GitHub database, there were 32,467 new cases, comprising 32,054 local cases and 413 imported cases.
Of the 86 deaths, 28 were classified as brought-in-dead (BID) cases. The death toll now stands at 33,028.
Johor recorded the most deaths with 20. This was followed by Perak (11), Kedah (9), Melaka (7), Sabah (7), Kuala Lumpur (6), Pahang (6), Kelantan (5), Selangor (4), Penang (4), Putrajaya (3), Perlis (2), Sarawak (1) and Terengganu (1).
There were no deaths in Negeri Sembilan and Labuan.
As of midnight, there were 298,231 active cases, with 8,322 people hospitalised. Of this, 355 were in intensive care units (ICU), 208 of whom required respiratory assistance.
The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia stands at 3,528,557.
