In a statement today, the EC said they will only be allowed at party offices and official operations rooms with participation limited to 100 people.
It added that only fully vaccinated individuals are allowed to attend.
“Organisers should provide health screening counters to monitor attendance, vaccination status, and screenings for symptoms such as cough, sore throat, cold, and shortness of breath.
“Those who display symptoms are not allowed to enter. All those present will need to scan the MySejahtera QR Code or record their attendance in a book provided (name, phone number, symptoms and time),” it said.
The EC said organisers would need to obtain permits from the police for ceramahs, talks and campaigns before it is held.
It also said these events were not allowed in open or public premises during the campaign period.
Yesterday, Amanah president Mohamad Sabu said Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob agreed to allow ceramahs by parties campaigning in the Johor elections to run until midnight, instead of just 10pm under the previous SOPs.
Mohamad, who is better known as Mat Sabu, said Ismail agreed to this in a meeting with him and other Pakatan Harapan (PH) leaders namely PKR president Anwar Ibrahim and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.
