PETALING JAYA:
The driver of a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle who was involved in an accident that killed a family of four is likely to be charged in court soon.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Sarifudin Mohd Salleh told FMT today that police had wrapped up their investigation into the case.

“We have recorded the driver’s statement and his urine test was negative. We will refer the investigation papers to the deputy public prosecutor (DPP) tomorrow for further instruction,” he said.

Asked if the driver was detained, Sarifudin said police did not do so after taking into consideration that he had an injury on his spine and had to use a back brace.

On Feb 27, the 4WD driver lost control of his vehicle along Lebuhraya Sultan Iskandar, skidded into the opposite lane where the vehicle collided with an oncoming car carrying the family of four people.

The victims were identified as P Milan Damani, 32, C Tinisha, 31, and their children Ishaan Ivan, three, and Rihaan Ivan, four. They died at the scene of the accident.
