PETALING JAYA:
A youth from Melaka who captured the hearts of many after he went out of his way to help flood victims in Selangor in December has now arrived in Terengganu to help disaster victims.

In a Facebook post, Azwan Omar, better known as “Abang Viva”, said he arrived in Terengganu at 4.50 am this morning.

Speaking to Utusan Malaysia, Azwan said he had arrived in a four-wheel-drive vehicle this time.

“If anyone has information on areas that are still affected, please share it with me because where I’m currently at, the water has started to recede,” he said.

In a live broadcast, Azwan was seen driving a Mitsubishi Triton given to him by cosmetics entrepreneur Wan Siti Aisyah Wan Hasan last month.

Azwan Omar, better known as Abang Viva, is better prepared this time to help flood victims in his four-wheel-drive vehicle.

He was accompanied by several others, believed to be his acquaintances, moving in a convoy.

Previously, FMT reported how Azwan had rushed from Melaka to Shah Alam with a boat tied to his Perodua Viva to assist flood victims there with only RM50 in his pocket.

He survived on bread and water given by the flood victims and the NGOs on the ground.

He was among the first responders on-site to rescue residents trapped in their homes by the rising floodwaters.
