43 Covid-19 deaths, 27,299 new cases

This brings the total number of fatalities to 32,634.

PETALING JAYA:
The health ministry reported 43 Covid-19 deaths yesterday, according to its GitHub database.

The ministry also reported 27,299 new cases, comprising 27,043 local cases and 256 imported cases.

Of the 43 deaths, 13 were classified as brought-in-dead (BID) cases. The death toll now stands at 32,634.

Sabah reported nine deaths, followed by Selangor (8), Johor (7), Perak (6), Kedah (5), Pahang (2), Kelantan (2), Kuala Lumpur (1), Melaka (1), Terengganu (1) and Sarawak (1).

There were no deaths reported in Penang, Negeri Sembilan, Perlis, Putrajaya and Labuan.

As of midnight, there were 298,976 active cases, with 7,911 hospitalised. Of this, 348 were in intensive care units (ICU), 203 of whom required respiratory assistance.

There were also 22,710 recoveries.

The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia stands at 3,395,170.
