
The ministry also reported 30,644 new cases, comprising 30,387 local cases and 257 imported cases.
Of the 57 deaths, 14 were classified as brought-in-dead (BID) cases. The death toll now stands at 32,591.
Johor reported 14 deaths, followed by Sabah (8), Perak (6), Kedah (5), Melaka (5), Selangor (5), Pahang (3), Terengganu (3), Kuala Lumpur (2), Perlis (2), Kelantan (1), Negeri Sembilan (1), Penang (1) and Sarawak (1).
There were no deaths reported in Labuan and Putrajaya.
As of midnight, there were 294,430 active cases, with 7,949 hospitalised. Of this, 332 were in intensive care units (ICU), 196 of whom require respiratory assistance.
There were also 22,678 recoveries.
The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia stands at 3,367,871.
