KUALA LUMPUR:
Employers have been urged to accept the digital certificates issued after patients complete their isolation period for home surveillance orders (HSO) and release orders (RO), to avoid congestion at Covid-19 assessment centres (CACs).

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a statement today said based on data at the crisis preparedness and response centre (CPRC), 90% of those present at CACs were patients or employers requesting written notices for the purpose of discharge from HSO.

“The national CPRC found that between 30-50% of the people at CACs were not there for assessment of cases that deteriorated during home monitoring.

“This has led to an increase in the workload at CACs, where health workers should instead be focused on assessing and treating cases that require special attention,” he said.

Noor Hisham urged employers to be sensitive in this matter and accept the HSO and RO digital certificates, and not force employees to seek verification from CACs.
