Health ministry reports 24 new Covid-19 deaths

This brings the total number of fatalities to 32,099.

PETALING JAYA:
The health ministry reported 24 Covid-19 deaths yesterday, according to its GitHub database.

Of the total, nine were classified as brought-in-dead (BID). The death toll now stands at 32,099.

Most of the fatalities were recorded in Kedah with five, followed by Johor (4), Sabah (4), Perak (3), Pahang (3), Negeri Sembilan (2), Selangor (1), Perlis (1) and Terengganu (1).

There were no deaths reported in Kelantan, Melaka, Penang, Sarawak, Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya.

As of midnight, there were 122,991 active cases including 155 in intensive care units (ICU), 80 of whom require respiratory assistance.

There were also 5,807 recoveries reported.

The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia stands at 2,996,361.
