Wax doll mistaken for dead body in Shah Alam

The ‘gruesome’ discovery was made by an employee with a waste management firm.

Police advised the public not to speculate on the photos that have gone viral on social media.
PETALING JAYA:
An employee with a waste management firm could be forgiven for thinking that he had stumbled upon a gruesome find yesterday evening.

Wrapped tightly in plastic and curled in a foetal position lay what he thought was a body in a rubbish-strewn alley behind a shop lot in Seksyen 27, Shah Alam.

Police were called in, only to discover that the “victim” was a female-shaped wax doll or mannequin that had been discarded along with the trash.

The discovery soon became viral on social media with netizens sharing all the “crime scene” photos.

Shah Alam police chief Baharudin Mat Taib said staff from Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Berhad waste management had alerted the authorities of the find at 3pm.

“We promptly dispatched a forensics unit to the site. However, the case has since been classified as No Offence Disclosed (NOD),” he added.

Baharudin also advised the public against speculating on the pictures shared on social media.
