Notice advising senior citizens not to vote in Johor polls is fake

The health ministry advises public not to spread such fake news.

The health ministry said it had never suggested that senior citizens should not go out to vote.
KUALA LUMPUR:
The health ministry has denied that it had suggested that senior citizens should not go out to vote in the Johor state elections, as alleged on social media recently.

In what was made to appear as an official recommendation by the ministry, complete with the nation’s coat of arms, those aged 60 and above were advised not to vote to prevent the spread of Covid-19 infection among their group.

The health ministry, however, in its official Twitter account, said it had never issued such advice and hoped the public would not spread the fake news.
