Motorcyclist riding against traffic on MRR2 crashes into car

The motorcyclist was taken to Ampang Hospital with serious injuries.

PETALING JAYA:
A motorcyclist riding against traffic on the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) crashed into a car causing a three-vehicle accident in the early hours of the morning.

According to a statement by the Ampang Jaya police station, the motorcyclist was heading towards Gombak from Kampung Pandan when he was involved in a collision with a Proton Saga at 5.30am.

“The motorcycle was believed to be riding against traffic in the middle lane of the MRR2 and collided with a Proton Saga,” police said.

A Perodua Bezza behind the Saga was the third vehicle involved in the accident.

The 22-year-old motorcyclist was taken to the Ampang Hospital after suffering serious injuries to his face and legs.

The drivers of the two cars were uninjured.

The case is being investigated under Section 43 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless and inconsiderate driving.
