
Its president, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, said members needed to work harder than other parties and engage in mature politics without discrediting their opponents and focus on serving the community.
“Let us compete not to bring down other parties, but to offer better things and provide better services for the people.
“Young people are smarter and wiser now, they will not vote for someone just because the candidate is young.
“Neither will they vote for someone simply because they were given money, as they are more mature, educated and know what is better for them,” he told reporters after a programme with the Ulu Tiram community today.
On talk that he would be contesting in the Johor state elections, Syed Saddiq said what was more important for the people to know were Muda’s solutions to provide them with a better life.
He said 74,000 to 76,000 people had registered as Muda members nationwide as of last week.
The Johor state assembly was dissolved on Jan 22. The Election Commission is expected to announce the date of the elections on Wednesday.
