
In a statement, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections now stands at 2,870,758.
He said 3,232 patients had recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,784,003.
Noor Hisham also said 14 new clusters were reported today.
Meanwhile, 114 patients remain in intensive care, 106 of whom are confirmed Covid-19 positive and eight suspected of being infected; 62 patients require respiratory assistance, with 50 Covid-19 positive and 12 suspected of being infected.
There were 4,622 local infections today, involving 4,448 Malaysians and 174 foreigners, and 152 imported cases, comprising 76 Malaysians and 76 foreigners.
Noor Hisham said that of the new infections, only 0.8% were Category 3, 4 and 5 cases at the time of diagnosis.
The country’s Covid-19 infectivity rate (R-nought or R0) remained at 1.14, with Perlis having the highest R0 of 1.25, followed by Melaka (1.19), Kedah (1.18), Johor (1.16), Putrajaya (1.16), Negeri Sembilan (1.14), Kuala Lumpur (1.13), Selangor (1.1), Penang (1.10), Sabah (1.08), Kelantan (1.08), Perak (1.03), Pahang (1.02), and Terengganu (0.94).
Labuan and Sarawak recorded an R0 of zero.
