The matter was confirmed by the Comptroller of the Royal Household for Istana Negara Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin when contacted by Bernama.
The King had been undergoing a health check-up and follow-up treatment at IJN.
Meanwhile, Istana Negara, through its official Facebook page, said Sultan Abdullah was accompanied by Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah when he left IJN this morning.
“The King expresses his heartfelt thanks to the people who prayed for his well-being,” the statement read.
According to the statement, Sultan Abdullah performed Friday prayers at the palace’s main surau today.
Fadil, in a statement on Sunday, had said that the health check-up and follow-up treatment was related to an intervention treatment on the knee and ankle joints which the Agong underwent at IJN on Sept 24, 2020.
He said the intervention was done after a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan showed injuries to the King’s knee and ankle joints while taking part in sports activities.
