The residents, led by the former management committee chairman Ng Jeng Seang said they lodged a police report as far back as September 2020, after the manager was seen leaving the property with files.
“I sensed something was amiss when she didn’t pick up our calls. That’s when we decided to look into our bank statements and found discrepancies,” Ng stated in the police report.
FMT is withholding the name of the former building manager pending comments from the police.

In the police report, Ng said the files that have gone missing included daily cash collection reports from 2018 to 2020.
Subsequently, the current management committee chairman Alvin Mah told a press conference today that the management hired a forensic accountant who found other discrepancies amounting to almost RM600,000.
Mah claimed he and the other committee members have been trying to get updates on the police investigation but to no avail.
“They don’t tell us much when we ask, just saying that they are looking into it. It has been a year and we decided to reach out to YB Teresa for help,” he said.
Kok, who was also at the press conference, said she made an appeal to the Brickfields district police and the investigating officer to expedite the investigation.
“We are talking about half a million ringgit that has gone (missing). The building needs the cash urgently for maintenance.”
