3,214 Covid-19 cases, 9 clusters

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says the total number of Covid-19 cases now is 2,836,159.

PETALING JAYA: The health ministry has reported 3,214 Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours.

In a statement, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections now stands at 2,836,159 cases.

He said 3,116 patients had recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,759,049.

However, 146 patients remain in intensive care, 112 of whom are confirmed Covid-19 positive and 34 suspected of being infected.

Of the patients in ICU, 65 required respiratory assistance, with 40 patients Covid-19 positive and the remaining 25 suspected of being infected.

There were 2,808 local infections today, involving 2,707 Malaysians and 101 foreigners, and 406 imported cases.

Of these, only 1.1% of patients were in Category 3, 4 or 5 at the time of diagnosis.

Noor Hisham also said nine clusters were reported today.
