KUALA LUMPUR:
The public has been urged not to spread any news on Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s condition unless it is based on official sources like the hospital or his family members.

Instead, communications and multimedia minister Annuar Musa asked the public to pray for the former prime minister’s speedy recovery, reported Bernama.

“Please respect the current situation of Tun Dr Mahathir’s family,” he said in a Twitter post today.

Since the Langkawi MP was warded yesterday at the National Heart Institute (IJN), media practitioners have gathered outside the hospital for the latest updates on his health.

Yesterday, his daughter, Marina, said her father was in a stable condition and was responding well to follow-up treatment.

Meanwhile, old TikTok videos of Mahathir walking out of IJN and pictures of him in his ward have been making the rounds since this morning.

Mahathir had previously been admitted to IJN on Jan 7 for an elective medical procedure and was discharged on Jan 13.
